The Enterprise will deliver electrical equipment for diesel locomotives to Nikolayev and Poltava Diesel Locomotive Repair Plants. To date, the terms and volumes of deliveries have been agreed.
“Nikolayev Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant”, Ltd., and “Poltava Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant”, Ltd., carry out overhaul and retrofitting of diesel locomotives and are the largest in Ukraine in this industry. “Electrotyazhmash” already has an experience of cooperation with these partners: the Plant supplied to “Nikolayev Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant”, Ltd., electrical equipment for TEM7 diesel locomotive, and to “Poltava Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant”, Ltd., - electrical equipment for TEM2 diesel locomotive. Thus, the Plant took part in joint national projects on modernization of TEM7 diesel locomotive and on deep retrofitting of TEM2 diesel locomotive, the first in Ukraine.
At the same time, the partnership with the Polish company Almides Sp. z o.o. is under way. The Plant will also deliver to this customer electrical equipment for diesel locomotives.
On March 26, SE "Plant Electrotyazhmash" signed a memorandum on participation in implementation of the program for renewal of electric power stations in Iraq, which is funded by the United States of America. The total value of the program will be up to US$ 1.2 billion. Under the program, the Company expects to receive an order for equipment delivery and retrofitting to the amount of more than US$ 50 million.
“The memorandum provides for cooperation in design and manufacture of the units for electric power stations in Iraq with a total capacity of 1,300 MW. Soon, a working plan will be approved for signing a contract for 3 years to the amount of more than US$ 50 million. This is a large project of international importance for our Enterprise and, as a whole, for Ukraine”, - commented Victor Busko, the Acting General Director of State Enterprise “Plant “Electrotyazhmash”.
The signatories of the agreement became Viktor Busko, the Acting General Director, and representatives of the Czech company, which is the general contractor in implementation of the project. The negotiations on conclusion of the agreement lasted for several months.
As was emphasized by Viktor Busko, the said signing of the agreement became possible due to confirmation of the successful financial recovery of the Enterprise – SE “Plant “Electrotyazhmash” will be able to guarantee a timely and high-quality fulfillment of the orders.
After signing the memorandum, the parties agreed to create a working group to agree on all the technical details. The working group shall prepare a draft contract, which will become the basis for further cooperation.
Today a joint meeting of the Management of the State Enterprise "Plant" Electrotyazhmash" and JSC «Ukrainian Railways» was held under the chairmanship of Vladislav Krikliy, the Minister of Infrastructure, with participation of Dmitriy Sennichenko, the Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. The agenda is to agree on the further steps within the framework of the signed roadmap for cooperation between the State Enterprise “Plant “Electrotyazhmash” and JSC “Ukrainian Railways”.
Unfortunately, for many years “Electrotyazhmash” delivered its products for railway transport, which were intended for export, but did not have accreditation to participate in the tenders for renewal of rolling stock operated by “Ukrainian Railways”.
Now, after several months of active work by both parties, the certification procedure for “Electrotyazhmash” is being completed. The Company will receive the appropriate document in two weeks, in mid-April.
This will allow the Enterprise to take part immediately in the tenders of “Ukrainian Railways” and to implement further the roadmap, which provides for cooperation in accordance with the Concept for the development of the locomotive fleet of JSC “Ukrainian Railways” by 2023.
The orders will relate to delivery of spare parts, overhaul and renewal of electric motors in “Ukrainian Railways” locomotives.
Basing on the results of the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct a series of visiting meetings at “Electrotyazhmash” for the top managers of three repair plants and the procurement center of “Ukrainian Railways”, in order to agree on the technical details and tender procedures for provision of further cooperation.
